Tammy Harris

Executive Director

Tammy Harris is a nonprofit executive, development strategist, and fundraising leader with extensive experience guiding mission-driven organizations through growth, sustainability, and community impact. She currently serves as Executive Director of Carolina Voices, where she focuses on expanding philanthropic support, strengthening partnerships, and advancing the organization’s artistic and educational mission.

Harris brings more than a decade of leadership experience across nonprofit management, fundraising, grant strategy, and organizational development. She is the Founder of The Ursus Institute, where she served as Executive Director from 2016 to 2024, directing all aspects of fundraising, donor relations, communications, budgeting, and strategic planning. Under her leadership, the organization cultivated strong donor networks and developed collaborative partnerships at the local, national, and international levels.

Her executive leadership experience also includes serving as Executive Director of The Voice of Hope, as well as Interim Executive Director of the Analytics and Big Data Society, where she provided organizational oversight, strategic direction, and operational stabilization. Throughout her career, Harris has been recognized for her ability to align vision with execution, build authentic donor relationships, and design effective fundraising systems spanning major gifts, grants, and events.

In addition to executive leadership, Harris has served as a grant writer and nonprofit development consultant, supporting organizations in securing institutional funding, strengthening donor engagement, and implementing ethical fundraising practices. Her earlier roles include Director of Development at Redeeming Joy, where she tripled funds raised within one year, and educator at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, where she secured grant funding to enhance STEM programs.

Harris holds a Master of Arts in Education with 4.0 Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to mission-centered leadership, human dignity, and community transformation.
