A Carolina Christmas from the Biltmore

Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, 7:00pm:  Grand Hall, Biltmore Estate, Asheville

Presented by:  VOX

WDAV has chosen to feature VOX in its first attempt at national syndication, in December, 2009.  A Carolina Christmas at the Biltmore” will include a wide variety of “classical music,” folk songs, traditional spirituals, gospel music and more.  Special guests will include a Scots-Irish baroque quartet, led by Henry Lebedinsky, Catrina Pegues – gospel singer, Zeb Harrison & the Voices of Praise – shout band, Ruth Smith – hammered dulcimer, and more.  The Biltmore will close down part of the house and decorate for Christmas for still photos and video footage of the endeavor.  Sponsors and patrons of both WDAV and Carolina Voices will be afforded a rare opportunity to witness a radio broadcast in the making, through special concert and overnight stay packages.  Audience by invitation only.

 

Singathon for Hope

In order to further benefit the Urban Ministry Center, Carolina Voices sponsors a day-long Singathon for Hope on Saturday, November 14, leading up to Give Thanks and Sing.  Choirs and singers throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region are invited and encouraged to give of their time and talents to support the Urban Ministry Center.
